Peda-forum 2012 conference “Handprints”

Universities are full of excellent teachers, students, educational leaders and developers. Each of them leaves a mark on the future experts who lead us towards a better world. Society sets its own challenges on university education. The pace of change is fast and complex. How can we develop better education on a sustainable basis in a situation of constant change? Tune in to discuss, reflect and share ideas with other educational experts.

Peda-forum conference invites members of the academic community to share know-how, ideas and energy. Join us and engage in dialogue at Peda-forum conference organized at Aalto University on August 21-22, 2012. You can also arrange a networking meeting on August 20, 2012. The annual meeting of university career services, Elopäivät, is arranged as a part of Peda-forum conference.

A workshop track in English

The main language of the conference is Finnish. For the English speaking audience we offer four workshops:

Evening programme

All attendees are invited to the evening programme held on Tuesday August 21, 2012 at Weegee (Ahertajantie 5, Tapiola). The evening starts 19.00 with welcoming words and drinks. A buffet dinner with refreshments is served and later there will be live music. You may also visit the exhibition at EMMA (Espoo Museum of Modern Art).

Organizing a networking meeting

University teaching and learning networks and communities can arrange networking meetings on Monday August 20, 2012 after 12.00. We will provide room for the meeting. All meetings will be published on the conference website.

Registration fees

180 € until June 10, 2012
200 € from June 11 until June 30, 2012

Registration fee can be paid as an internet payment when registering or by credit transfer. Aalto employees can choose internal billing.

Fee includes coffees and lunch on both conference days and evening programme on tuesday August 21. The fees are same for presenters.

Registration

Registration is closed. Enquiries about late registration: pedaforum2012 at aalto.fi.

Cancellation policy

The registration may be cancelled before June 30, 2012. From July 1 full registration fee will be charged and no refunds are made. The registration may however be transferred to another person without costs. In this case you will need resolve by yourselves how the fee will be compensated.

Accomodation

Two hotels around Otaniemi area have alloted rooms for Peda-forum guests. The reservation should be made before August 6, 2012.
